Obituary for Donald Carl Baker
BAKER, Donald C “Don”
Age 82

Donald (Don) Baker, 82, of Post Falls, Idaho passed away on May 5th. Don was born in Kevin, Montana on May 7th, 1933 to Rose and Walter Baker, the 5th of 9 children. The family moved to Spokane, Washington in 1943, where he attended Lewis and Clark High School. Don married his high school sweetheart Evelyn Taylor and they spent 64, wonderful years together.

After serving in the Marines, Don returned to Spokane and started a commercial tile contracting business. He remained in tile contracting until he was 80 years old and was proud of his many accomplishments including his work on Grand Coulee Dam and the Spokane and SeaTac airports. Don was most proud of his 4 children, Michael Baker of Spokane, WA, Linda Baker Lester (Steven) of Portland, OR, Lori Baker Eveleth (Dan) of Pullman, WA and Lisa Baker Toepel (Jim) of Seattle, WA, his 9 grandchildren and he was looking forward to the birth of his first great-grandchild later this summer. Despite a recent illness he always approached life with humor and optimism and he will be greatly missed.

Memorial services will be held at the Pine Cemetery Mausoleum on May 19th at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Don’s name may be made to Spokane Valley Baseball Association and the Kroc Center Summer program scholarship fund.
