Deanna Lee Fendler

July 12, 1952 - January 12, 2018

Deanna Lee (Hay) Fendler (Age 65) passed away January 12, 2018. She was born in Billings, MT on July 12, 1952, and raised on a farm, 14 miles outside of Red Lodge, MT. She attended a small 2 room school house, five miles from her home, from 1st to 8th grade. After graduating with honors from Red Lodge High School in 1970, she graduated from Eastern Montana College in Billings with a Bachelors Degree in education. In 1980, she married Robert Richard Fendler Jr. in the beach in Pacific Grove, CA where he was stationed at the time. The couple then transferred to Germany where they spent 4 years exploring Europe. After returning to the states, they lived in Massachusetts and Maryland where they explored the east coast together, while she worked for the federal civil services and earned her Masters Degree in education. In 2000, Deanna retired from federal civil service and moved with her husband to Spokane, where she had spent most of her time working in her garden and volunteering for various community organizations, as well as her church. Deanna devoted her life to helping others, reducing the suffering of animals, and to living as sustainably as possible. Deanna will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
