Dean Walker was born in Spokane, WA on January 6, 1941, to Stanton and Cammile (Millie) Walker. He was raised in Northport, WA with his older brother Chuck and younger brother Gary. He passed on August 11, 2023, after a long battle with dementia. Dean had many job titles over the years. Miner, Logger, and Business Owner were just some of his varied careers. He had an amazing work ethic and liked staying busy. He was quick to lend a hand when someone needed help. Dean was an avid outdoorsman. He was a lifetime member of the Spokane Gun Club and served a term as Club president. He loved hunting season and spent many years chasing the bucks. In 1971 he went on a hunting trip to Alberta and shot a prize-winning Bull Moose which would forever be nicknamed “Bullwinkle”. Dean loved his time at Deep Lake, spending all his spare time at the Cabin where he fished and worked on the property. He always made time to take the kids water skiing and fishing. He spent his weekends at the cabin making friends and telling stories under the thinking bush. Everyone was welcome at the cabin. Dean is survived by his wife Sandy Walker, his son Michael (Sandra) Walker, daughter Suzette (Brett) Wilson, and 3 grandchildren Hunter Whitlock, Joi’a and Matte’a Walker. Brother Gary (Diana) Walker and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles Walker and daughter Deborah Daniels. A memorial service to celebrate Dean’s life will be on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224.
