January 30, 1958 - December 07, 2017
Dan Owen Clark (age 59) - Jan. 30,1958 - 12/7/2017 - First comes the date of his birth, followed by the date of his death. What matters most of all was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time Dan spent alive on earth, and now only those who loved him know what that little dash line was made of. Dan was born to Lawrence and Edith Clark in Martinez, California. The family settled in Spokane, WA in 1959. He attended Bancroft Grade School, Havermale Middle school, and North Central High School. Dan joined the army and served his country with pride, from 1977-1984. He served 8 years active duty and 4 years in the reserves. During which time, he did a 2-year tour in Germany. He was a Sergeant in the Army when he retired. Dan always had a special interest in cars and trucks. He worked as a mechanic and service manager at various locations in Spokane including a long career at Wendle Ford. It was at this time he fell in love with his truck The Bumble Bee. He worked as long as he could until the pain was too great for him to hold a wrench any longer. Dan had many other interests he enjoyed outdoors. Boating, fishing, camping, a good bonfire, lawn chair, cold beer, working potato gun and music playing made for the best weekend. This was a happy place for Dan to be. Dan was an avid TV sports fan. He loved his Seahawks and rooted against all other teams. Gonzaga Bulldogs were a favorite of his. Many games were spent texting the play by play scores to his brother when he was out on the road working. Dan is survived by his mother, Edith; Siblings, Kim (Sherry) Clark, Kathy Downey, and Rex (Staci) Clark; children, Delton (Tammy) Clark, Dustin (Brenna) Clark, Timothy Clark and Nicole Clark; 3 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Dan is proceeded in death by his infant son Dan Jr, and his father Lawrence. Dan will be dearly missed, and after the tears and heart ache subside, we will laugh again in his honor. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday January 27,2018 at 11:00 AM at Glad Tidings Assemble of God Church. 4224 E 4th Ave, Spokane WA 99202. Memorial donations in Dans memory may be made to Glad Tidings assemble of God Church.
