UTTKE, Claudene (Bumpus) (Age 83) Passed away on August 26, 2013 in Spokane, WA.; She was born on November 19, 1929 to Claude and Alice Bumpus. Claudene was a foster parent for over 50 years, caring for over 400 children. She was a professional seamstress and owned Hem House Alterations. Claudene was known for her kind and loving nature. She always put others needs before her own. She will be missed so very much by so many. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Foster Parent Association. Claudene is survived by Kathy (Randy ) Benn, Janet Taylor, Ken (Kerrin) Uttke; her foster daughter and caregiver Pam Jones, 27 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; brothers Boyd (Diana) and Lee (Jackie) Bumpus; and sisters Doris (Norman) Meyer and Joyce Friedland. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Uttke, her parents, and her brother Norman Bumpus. There will be a graveside service on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 2:30 PM at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley.
