Obituary for Carol K Mitchell

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt passed peacefully on August 24, 2017, at the Rockwood Atrium in Spokane, WA. She finally succumed to a very aggressive cancer, which she fought through harder than anybody we've ever known.
Carol was born in Spokane, WA, in August of 1934, to Kenneth and Nadine (Ketchum) Bush. She attended Northwestern University, in Chicago Illinois, graduated in Dental Hygiene and began practicing her profession. In 1957 she married James Mitchell and shortly after that became a mother.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Laurie Schwagerl; her son, Michael (Mary) Mitchell; 4 grand children, Heather Reinking, Danielle Mitchell, Stazia Petrick and Anya Petrick; 2 great-grand children, Hayden Reinking, and Addison Reinkin; her son in law, Paul Reinking; and her loyal little dog Tina, who laid by her side.
Carol was a member of Unity church for many years. She was a member of the Junior League, and she also volunteered her time and cooking skills providing meals for homeless youths.
Carol enjoyed spending summers at Couer dAlene lake, gourmet cooking, playing cards and, last but not least, spoiling her grandkids and her dog tiny tina, as she used to call her.
Our special thanks to the nurses and staff at Rockwood Retirement Community that took such good care of her in her time of need.
We will all miss her beautiful endless smile and her loving and caring spirit!
