Carmelita Overland, 89, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018. Carmen was born and raised in Belleville, Illinois to Christian and Alma Butzinger as their youngest child. It was there that she met and married the love of her life, Arthur J. Overland on October 8, 1954 whom she met at Scott AFB. Together they raised three sons in Spokane. Carmen was a proud Teamster working in Spokane area freight company offices before her retirement. Her loves were family, her dogs, and the Oregon Coast. She very much loved spending time with her grandchildren; John, Nicholas, Stephanie, Alysha, Jeff, Rachel, and Amanda whenever possible. - The family would like to express appreciation to Carmelita's care providers who helped look after her with special thanks to Kirsten. Carmen is survived by her sons Chris (Paula) and Mark and is preceded in death by her parents, brothers & sisters, son Ray, and husband Arthur. - A memorial service will be held at a later date.
