Bruce L. Ferrell

January 01, 1938 - July 08, 2022

Bruce L. Ferrell, age 84, passed away in Spokane on July 8, 2022. His heart beat for the last time with family members holding his hands. Bruce was born on January 1, 1938 in Seattle, WA to Grace and Frank Ferrell. He was the second child of five and was the father to five children. Bruce and his three brothers and sister grew up primarily in Oregon and Riverside. He attended La Sierra Academy, where he met his first wife Sally, with whom he had two children. He joined the Army and served for two years and then four years in the Army reserves, got a divorce. While living in Glendale he met Sharon Hirst who was in nursing school, they were married on December 8, 1968. He then received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Fresno State College. They had three children and they were married for 53 years. Bruce was a dreamer, collector, a big thinker and an even bigger talker who always saw the positive side of life. And his passion and curiosity knew no bounds. In his younger years he enjoyed snow skiing, biking, and bowling. He also taught waterskiing to youth groups. Bruce enjoyed talking on the phone regularly with friends and family. He always loved dominos and music, and in later years listened to gospel music for hours. He was always ready to forward a funny email. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His celebration of life will be September 10, 2022 at 4:30pm at Calimesa SDA church in Calimesa, California. We will also be live streaming for those who are unable to travel.
