Billy Dale Moore Jr.

May 02, 1956 - April 18, 2018

Billy (Age 61) passed away at his home in Elk, WA on April 18, 2018, now in the arms of our Lord. He was born on May 2, 1956 to Bill Sr.& Sandra Moore at Fairchild Air Force Base. Bill began his work career at Kaiser Mead where he worked for 25 years until taking an early retirement. He bravely went back to school at the age of 47 graduating from Spokane Falls Community College with a Chemical Dependency Counseling degree. He continued on to earn his Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies, summa cum laude, from Whitworth University. After graduation Billy went to work for the Kalispel Tribe as a counselor, achieving his goal and ongoing desire to help others find their way out of addiction. If you knew Billy you didn’t think of him without music coming to mind. He rarely went anywhere without one of his guitars. He played in various bands from an early age, self-taught and gifted. He shared his gift freely, writing and singing songs from his experiences, heart and love for his Savior, Jesus. He blessed too many to count with his gift: from community gatherings, hospital and home visits to camping and church worship teams, weddings and funerals – and everything in between. Billy had a great laugh and a big heart, and a kind and generous nature. He will be greatly missed. Billy was preceded in death by his father, Billy Dale Moore, Sr. He is survived by his daughter, “Casi” Casandra Moore, whom he adored. Three step-children, Rhiana Whitehead, Mark Edens and Marie Edens Findlay, who he also loved very much, his mother, Sandy Moore and sisters, Dixie Green and Katherine Moore, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Celebration of Billy’s Life will be held, Friday April 27, at 10:00 am at Chattaroy Community Church, 3711 E Chattaroy Rd.
