Obituary for Billie "Bill" Lee Holford

Billie “Bill” Lee Holford was born in Colville WA to Charles and Alice Holford, March 11, 1931. He passed peacefully at home on March 22, 2015. The family lived in Inchelium, where Bill started school. Later they moved to Chewelah where he graduated from Jenkins High School in 1948. At 17, he joined the US Navy SeaBees for 4 years (1948-1952). Bill served at Adak, AK, Guam, and Subic Bay Philippines. Bill worked for James J. Williams Inc. for 39 years as a petroleum tanker driver, mechanic, and dispatcher. Bill married Joanne Freeman in 1955, she passed away in 1986. They had four children, Jeff (Teri) Holford Spokane, Sharon Shaw and family, Camano Island WA, Janet (David) Knight and family Spokane, Russ Holford and family, Valdez, AK. Eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren who are his delight. In 1991, Bill married Pat Mills who has 4 children and numerous grand and great grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife, Pat, his brother and hunting partner C. Leroy (Charlotte) Holford. In retirement, Bill and Pat enjoyed travelling the northwest and Canada in their truck and tent trailer, Banff and Jasper being among their favorite destinations. They also enjoyed spending time at his daughter and son-in-law's cabin at Bull Lake Montana. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to his wife, Pat, for her love, devotion, and care-giving during this difficult journey. Services will be held on Saturday, April 4th at 1:00 PM at The Kings Community Church, 5216 S Grove Rd, Spokane, WA 99224.
