KRIENKE, Betty Lou - (Age 81) - On October 3,1936 a baby girl was born to Cecil and Grace Betts in Glenwood, Arkansas. - When she was four her family moved to St Joe, Idaho after the sawmill closed during the “great depression.” Her father immediately found work as a logger which provided for the family for years. - One of Betty’s descendants was a full-blooded Cherokee women who was forced to march hundreds of miles during the relocation of the Cherokee Nation imposed by the U.S. Federal Government in 1838- 1839. This infamous action was known as the “Trail of Tears”. - After Betty graduated from St. Maries High School in 1954 she immediately relocated to Spokane to enroll in Kinman Business University. Two years later she entered L.I.F.E. Bible College in Los Angeles, California. - Because Betty was so friendly and her effervescent personality made her so likeable, employment was easy to obtain. In L.A. she worked at a large bank while attending night classes in Bible School. - In 1958 she married a local resident Edgar Krienke. The marriage was performed at the “Chapel of Roses” in Pasadena, California where numerous Rose Bowl Queens tied the knot. - When Betty was 13 years, she went to hear a female evangelist in Spokane named Renee Martz. A gifted and blessed preacher and vocalist which attracted large crowds even internationally. After hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ taught, Betty humbled herself by repenting publicly and entered the Kingdom of God (Born Again). By the way the speaker was only 10 years old. - Moving back to Spokane in 1962 with her son Paul, Ed became a Realtor during a depressed business cycle. Yet as time went by both of them became very successful. Some of Betty’s endeavors were a Welcome Wagon representative, worked at Two Swabbies retail store, complied the U.S. Census locally one year and of course was a loving home mother to her four children; Paul, Kim, Eddie and Mark. - Along with her husband, they started several churches in Spokane which today are known as Mirabeau Chapel Foursquare Church, New Life Assembly of God, and Middletown, N.Y. Foursquare Church. - After the children were raised, she volunteered one day a week for years in the office of NAMI to support the mentally ill. - Those that preceded in death were her parents and daughter Kimberlee. - A memorial service will be conducted to celebrate Betty’s life on Friday, 1:00 PM on March 2,2018 at Pines Cemetery Mausoleum at 12116 E 16th Spokane Valley - Betty entered the presence of her Savior and soon coming King Jesus on Saturday February 24, 2018.
