BALLEW, Barry Barton (age 72) Barry was born March 11, 1942 and died August 15, 2014 in Coeur d' Alene, ID, following his battle with Alzheimer's disease. The youngest of three boys, he was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Following the birth of his sister, his mother and father moved the family to Monrovia, California. He graduated from Monrovia High School, was married, had his two children and began working as a builder and installer of commercial coolers. In 1974 he moved his second wife, Jeanne C McBeth, along with his two children to Coeur d' Alene, ID, and remained in the area until his death. Barry was a rare man, reared in a great generation living a difficult childhood; just as he persevered this challenge his entire life followed this path. Perfectionist by nature, he expected only the best not only from himself but everyone around him. In construction, specializing in concrete and bridge building in the Inland Northwest, he was a legend. He was very proud of the fact that he went to work the day after he graduated from high school and worked until the day he retired. He took great pride in the house he and his wife built south of Coeur d' Alene and remained there until Alzheimer's disease made it no longer safe for him to remain there unsupervised. After a rapid decline in a few area facilities he finally found final peace in the arms of Jesus while at the Hospice House in Coeur d' Alene. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers Kenneth and Al and most recently his beloved wife Jeanne in February of this year. He is survived by his sister Cheryl Lindheimer of California, son Barry & daughter in law Wakana of Boise, daughter Jamie Ballew Ragan and her husband Rick of Worley, grandson Christopher and granddaughter Olivia both of Worley. Barry was such a unique and awesome person there is a huge hole in the lives of those who knew him best. There is comfort in knowing that he is entertaining everyone in heaven...and as his son said, ""Telling God how to do things the correct way.â? May he rest in eternal peace with the wife he lost prematurely and from which he never completely recovered. Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 22, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Valley 7th Day Adventist Church on 16th and Sullivan with reception/fellowship to follow.
