McCREA, Amy (Blomgren, Seimer, Hirsch) - September 9, 1928 – December 2, 2021 - Amy (Blomgren) McCrea passed away in Spokane Valley, WA on December 2, 2021 at age 93. She was the second of seven children born to Dan and Beth Blomgren. Her childhood was spent in the Cottonwood Area (Valley, WA) and later in Chewelah. - She graduated from Jenkins High School in Chewelah in 1945. Soon after she met Wayne Seimer, who had returned home from the Army Air Corp. They married and operated a Holstein dairy near Chewelah, where they welcomed their four children. Later, the family and dairy herd moved to the Deer Park area. - In 1970, Amy married Jack Hirsch joining he and his four children in Valley, WA. Eventually she and Jack relocated to the Hayden Lake, ID area where they grew beautiful gardens. Later, as a widow, she relocated to Chewelah, where she married a former classmate, Jim McCrea. - She will be missed for her huckleberry pies, raspberries, and beautiful flowers and gardens. But most of all, she will be remembered for her fierce independent spirit! - Survivors include: children Dan Seimer (Kathy), Diane Rice (Mick), Marilyn Sylvester; siblings Bob Blomgren, Shirley Skok, Gerri Weythman, Glen Blomgren and Kent Blomgren; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Marvin Seimer, and sister Helen Barrett. - A memorial gathering will be held at the Valley Fire Hall on Saturday, May 14, 2022. She will be laid to rest in the Blomgren Family Plot in the Chewelah Pioneer Cemetery.
